It is common for encounter witnesses to perceive (what is assumed to be) the same craft in varied ways. Could such encounters be imperfectly coordinated hallucinations (by whatever intelligence is involved)? Or could there be several timelines brought together by the (apparent) device, one for each witness.
You are correct in varied details that seem to differ from account to account. These tend to be small things such as the date was 21st October but some accounts state 31st Oct. Some have Jolie out in the field instead of Yolanda – I would personally put this down to mistranslations from Spanish to English etc.
Is there any supporting evidence for any of this tale? This version has variants that differ from the account given by ‘The Unexplained’ magazine c.1980-81.
