Cryptozoology: Strange Beasts

Many of us have heard tales of werewolves and vampires as we have grown up. And while these creatures are largely believed to be the work of fiction, might some of the strange accounts on record across the centuries suggest some type of half-animal, half-human shapeshifter, possibly that requires human blood to survive, also resides with us in our most mysterious world?

There are writings and even cave drawings dating back thousands of years that speak of strange creatures who could appear in both the form of a beast and a human. Furthermore, many of the legends of ancient Greece also speak of “the gods” and their ability to change their form. What’s more, many legends of the Native Americans, as well as other indigenous peoples around the world, speak of such dangerous shapeshifters who seemingly balance not just multiple forms, but straddle varying levels of existence.

Might werewolves – or what we would identify as a werewolf – really exist? Might we suspect the same for vampires amid the many examples of people throughout history who have seemingly had an insatiable desire for human blood? Might the two seemingly separate entities be one and the same? After all, legends of vampiric beings also speak of an ability to shapeshift and change their form?

And when we take into account the many beastly creatures that lurk in the many legends and myths from around the world, we might begin to ask just what bizarre and monstrous creatures might exist all around us…
